Hotel Review: Holiday Inn Bali Benoa

Located 20 minutes away from the Bali airport, the Holiday Inn Bali Benoa serves as a phenomenal resort destination for the whole family. The island of Bali is so rich in culture, heritage, and religion, and you will see that reflected throughout the design of the hotel, as well as the cuisine, and even the clothing that the hotel staff members wear. In all, the Holiday Inn offers a worthwhile mix of pool and beach activities, cultural immersion, and relaxation options to make for a memorable family vacation.

The Hotel

We’ve visited Bali three times, and stayed at the Holiday Inn Bali Benoa two of those times. We love the fact that, like other Holiday Inn properties, kids eat free at their restaurants. And the food itself is quite delicious! The breakfast buffet at the Pasar Market Café includes several Indonesian options, as well as eggs, pancakes, and waffles. There’s even a kids corner where the kids can serve themselves without having to reach up to high counters. The Pasar Market Café also serves lunch and dinner options, and the Nudi Beach Bar and Restaurant gives off a nice beach club vibe and serves a different menu. There’s also routine live music at Nudi during dinner time, which adds a nice touch to the vibe of the resort.

If you were to ask our kids what their favorite part of the Holiday Inn, they would easily say the Kids Club! Every day has an hourly schedule where they get to participate in activities like face painting, coloring, arts and crafts, paper basket making, and much, much more. There’s even a slide, ball pit, TV area, and toy area to keep them happy and occupied while you enjoy a much-needed break from the kids. The club is open for kids ages 4-12.

In the pool area, there is a shallow section with a small waterslide for kids, as well as multiple other swimming areas across the resort. There’s a pool bar near the lobby, where you can order drinks while staying in the water. The beach on the resort is also very calm, since there’s a reef that calms the water several hundred feet out from the shore.

The Room

During our two visits to the Holiday Inn Bali Benoa, we stayed at the Tanjung Family King Kids Suite, which is basically a two-bedroom suite with a living area and balcony. What sets this apart from other suites, however, is that the kids’ room is decorated with a cartoony marine theme. There’s even a Playstation 4 hooked up to the TV in the room, which my son loved to play on when we were in the room! The suite also has all the amenities that you can expect, as well as a fridge to store things and two bathrooms.

Ultimately, we had a great time during our two visits to the Holiday Inn Bali Benoa. Having previously stayed in more crowded and loud areas like Kuta and Legian, we appreciated the quieter vibe of the area. We definitely still recommend spending some time away from the resort to experience more of what Bali has to offer. From the local markets in Kuta, to the rice terraces surrounding Ubud, and the cultural performances at the Uluwatu Temple, there is so much to experience during your stay in Bali!
