Four Seasons Nevis Review

walking on the private dock at Four Seasons Nevis

White Lotus vibes. If you haven’t seen the HBO show, it’s basically about wealthy people drama/satire while spending a week in a gorgeous resort. The Four Seasons Nevis could easily be the backdrop for a season of White Lotus because of it’s keen attention to detail, high quality service and food, and beautiful resort grounds. Thankfully it had all of the beauty without any drama! Even the first impression is top notch.

The island of Nevis is is located a few miles from St. Kitts, where you’ll likely be flying in to. The Four Seasons staff will then shuttle you to a nearby port, and then you’ll take a private ferry directly to the Four Seasons’ dock. It’s very similar to the start a season of White Lotus, where guests arrive, are personally welcomed by resort staff, and escorted on a resort tour and then directly to their rooms. It’s the same feeling here! The arrival to the Four Seasons is easy, gorgeous, and a perfect introduction to a carefree, relaxing and luxurious stay.

Four Seasons Nevis Review

The Four Seasons is located on the west coast of Nevis, a picturesque Caribbean island with a dormant volcano (the Nevis Peak) in the middle. Since you’re most likely arriving via boat, you’ll pull up directly to their private dock and then guided to the main area where you’ll complete check-in. The spa, restaurants, pool and shops are located in the main area, and the rooms are spread out across the resort.

Room Types

The Four Seasons Nevis has a variety of room types depending on your party size and budget. You can decide to stay in a standard guest room, several types of suites, or multiple kinds of villas. We stayed in two different rooms during our weeklong stay to experience different sides of the resort. Our first portion of our stay was in two connected Ocean-side guest rooms. Each of the rooms had a king bed, couch, spacious bathroom and closet space. We were on the first floor and could walk out to a nearby pool. We were just steps from the ocean, and on the southern side of the resort, just a quick walk away from the main pool and restaurants.

For the second half of our stay we moved to a three bedroom Palm Grove Villa. It was simply spectacular! This section of the resort is next to their golf course, and we had a private pool, and beautiful view of the golf course and peek of the ocean. Sometimes we even saw monkeys roaming around golf course. We were also given a golf cart that we could use to get to different areas of the resort.

Dining

Dining at the Four Seasons is simply exquisite. Aside from the main restaurants, they also have certain nights where they’ll have an outdoor BBQ cookout by the beach. You can also get delicious meals delivered directly to your room via room service. Here are notes on their restaurants:

  • Mango: The Four Seasons’ oceanfront restaurant. They have some delicious Caribbean options for dinner, and the views of the ocean were spectacular!
  • On the Dune: This is the restaurant close to the main pool, and is open for lunch and dinner. They also have unique cocktails that will keep you refreshed throughout the day.
  • Esquilina: This restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate here for breakfast only, but they also offer Mediterranean options for lunch and dinner.

Activities

As a five-star luxury resort, the Four Seasons has plenty of activities on-site at the resort that can help you unwind. You can spend your days lounging by one of the resort’s two outdoor pools or take advantage of their spa services to pamper yourself with massages and other treatments. The resort also offers tennis courts, golf courses, and water sports.

Here is a quick walkthrough of the activities that we participated in:

  • Foot Golf: This was a highlight of our stay! We got to use the scenic Four Seasons golf course to play a casual game of foot golf with a guide. We learned about the best techniques to move the ball, and got plenty of breathtaking views of Nevis Peak and the Caribbean Sea.
  • Water Activities: There are various non-motorized watersport activities available. From the Four Seasons you can do snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding.
  • Kids Club: The Four Seasons kids club has a room full of activities for the kids to do. We dropped the kids off for an hour or two here and there, which allowed us to relax by the beach or pool while they did arts, crafts, and other activities.
  • Guided Tours: You can also book multiple excursions from the concierge. We did a local cuisine tour of Nevis, which took us around the island to several local restaurants to sample Nevis cuisine. We also did a museum and plantation tour, where we learned about Nevis history and visited a local fruit farm as well.

Things to do in Nevis

  • Visit Alexander Hamilton’s House: With the musical turning Alexander Hamilton into a historical phenomenon, it’s sometimes overlooked that he was actually born and raised in Nevis! The Alexander Hamilton house has a small exhibit highlighting his life, and the Museum of Nevis History next door details the historical events that have shaped Nevis’ culture.
  • Soak in the Nevis Hot Springs: This public area near Charlestown, the capital of Nevis, is a geothermal bath with soothing hot water. There’s a natural spring as well as a covered pool. The locals have also noted that the hot springs can have healing qualities. It’s a nice place to dip your feet or fully soak in.
  • Try a Killer Bee at Sunshine’s Restaurant: Sunshine’s Restaurant is one of the most famous eateries in Nevis, and is located right next to the Four Seasons. Just walk south down the beach, you can’t miss it! Started by none other than Sunshine himself, it has grown from a single BBQ grill to a full oceanfront restaurant and bar. The walls of the restaurant are adorned by celebrity visitor photos, and you might even see Sunshine himself there during your meal. The Killer Bee is their specialty drink, which is like a rum punch. It may taste sweet, but it’s pretty potent! Also try the delicious chicken wings and enjoy the music and fun vibe.
  • Enjoy a scenic dinner at the Golden Rock: The Golden Rock Inn is at the foothills of the volcano on the mid-south portion of the island. The restaurant itself looks like it’s surrounded by a jungle garden! There you can enjoy a beautiful view, catch the sunset, and indulge in their delicious cuisine.

No matter what kind of vacation you’re looking for, Four Seasons Resort Nevis has something for everyone to enjoy. Whether it’s exploring all that this beautiful Caribbean island has to offer or just kicking back poolside with a drink in hand while enjoying heavenly spa treatments; this luxury resort has it all!
